Guests can access nature trails from the grounds. The lodge has a patio by a pond. There is a short walking trail for a quick walk in the woods (20 minutes round trip). Guests can feed the fish. Fish food is available in the Giftshop. In summer, the meadows of the basin are a rainbow of wild flowers. A 1/2 mile spur trail leads along the Emmons Moraine to a view of the Emmons Glacier, the largest glacier in the lower 48 states. Guests can walk under towering Douglas firs & hemlocks to the bubbling waters of the Ohanapecosh Hot Springs.

Alexander's Lodge is 100 km from Seattle-Tacoma International Airport and 1.3 miles from the Nisqually Entrance of Mount Rainier National Park. It's about 2 hours to drive from the lodge to Crystal Mountain/ Sunrise area. The lodge is closer to Paradise area of Mt. Rainier. Nearby landmarks include Mount Rainier National Park (2 km), Lake George (5 km), and Nisqually Entrance Historic District (2 km).
Services and Amenities
This Historic Ashford Lodge features a fireplace and free Wi-Fi. The lodge also has a gift shop and an event space. Free parking is available. The great room seats up to 50 people. There is a vending machine. Travel insurance is available through a number of independent providers. The lodge offers elopement packages between November and April (excluding long weekends, Christmas, and Thanksgiving holidays). A cleaning fee for a dog is $25 per night. No more than 2 dogs allowed, with a maximum weight of 30 pounds. Only dogs are allowed.
