Old St Francis School features 60 guestrooms in total, split across three buildings: the original schoolhouse and two additional buildings - the Art House & Ed house. Each room includes a private bathroom. Optional amenities include patios, suites and kitchenettes. Each of the 17 guestrooms in the original building pays tribute to the school's legacy, while the 24 guestrooms in the Art House celebrate the work of McMenamins artists. Inside the Art and Ed Houses, guests can find secret hallways, secret rooms and a secret bar. The soaking pool area features custom-made light fixtures and tile mosaics.
Dining and Drinks
The Old St Francis Pub provides pub fare and handcrafted beer from the on-site brewery. The Bend brewpub offers handcrafted ales brewed right downstairs. The full-service bar offers McMenamins handcrafted ales, wines, and spirits. The Old St Francis Theater has a full menu, plus pizza, snacks, and popcorn. O'Kanes also features Shed specialty menus exclusively for Whiskey Club members. Seasonal limited-edition beer tastings, dubbed O'Kanes Garage Series, are held in O'Kanes Pub on the fourth Friday of varied months, featuring different unique beers of the past, created by other McMenamins Brewers. In the afternoons, there are classic cocktails, with an emphasis on a greater selection of whiskey, scotch and Port.
Leisure and Entertainment
The Old St Francis School Theater, with seating for up to 150, offers visitors a chance to watch a recent release or sporting event while enjoying pizza and McMenamins ale. The theater is equipped with hearing impaired headphones that amplify the dialogue, or visual impaired headphones that describe the scenery and action. The Old St Francis also utilizes salt cells that convert low levels of salt to chlorine, and feature unusual custom-made light fixtures and absolutely stunning tile mosaics that surround the soaking pool.
Location and Access
Mcmenamins Old St. Francis School is located in downtown Bend, 30 km from Redmond Municipal Airport and three blocks from the Deschutes River. From Pilot Butte State Scenic Viewpoint, visitors can see panoramic views that include the high desert region and several of the Cascade peaks, such as Three Sisters, Broken Top Mountain and Mount Jefferson. The hotel is near downtown Bend, where guests can shop for clothes, jewelry, shoes, artwork, and home décor. Smith Rock is one of the nation's rock climbing sites.
