Guests can begin with a low tide foraging expedition for edible seaweeds, followed by a cooking workshop in the Edenwild Kitchen featuring Chris and Krista of Skarpari, custom knife makers and island homesteading duo, for a Shore to Table experience. A semi-finalist for a James Beard Award for Best Chef in the Northwest prepares meals.
Leisure & Entertainment
Guests can arrange a sea kayaking adventure. Edenwild is one of the only outfitter in the San Juan Islands to offer year round Kayaking. Fisherman's Bay Loop offers an easy journey with viewing spots. The area has local farms, native wildlife such as orca whales, sealions and seals and natural preserves. Colonies of seals and sea lions are usually seen scattered on a dozen or so mini islands just off the coast. The inn can set you up with a sea kayaking adventure. The area offers opportunities to view local nature such as eagles, seals, shore birds, and starfish. Lopez Island bike trail starts at the Ferry Landing and ends at Edenwild Inn. The bicycle rental service provides road or trail bikes. Spencer Spit State Park offers natural beauty and recreational opportunities. Iceberg Point, on the southend of the island, is the best place to see Orcas. Miss Mina's Youtube channel captures travel and foodie destinations in Asia. Guided tours are available with guides who have local knowledge. The Tour De Lopez Long Route offers rural country roads and coastal views. A wooded path opens up into a vast meadow that ends with steep drop offs into the Puget Sound. It is the perfect venue for writer workshops or artist retreats.
