Things to do & see

Whale watching is one of the top activities for visitors coming to the San Juan Islands. Boat tours depart from Deer Harbor and near the Orcas ferry terminal. Lime Kiln Point State Park is a location for whale watching. Orcas Island provides hiking opportunities, including Moran State Park, which offers trails to waterfalls, lakes, and viewpoints. Turtleback Mountain Preserve features trails and views to Crow Valley and the Salish Sea. Kayaking is popular, with access to Sucia, Matia, or Patos islands. Location and Surroundings

The Landmark is located on the western edge of Eastsound village, overlooking Fishing Bay. It is near Judd Cove Preserve, Madrona Point, Crescent Beach, and Eastsound Village Green Park. The Landmark Inn is near the Island Market, Brown Bear Bakery, and Darvill's Bookstore & Coffee Shop. Deer Harbor, a hub for marine activities, is on the west side of the island.

Getting around Orcas Island

Getting to Orcas is an adventure. If coming by car, take a Washington State Ferry. After arriving on Orcas, follow Orcas Road to Eastsound Village, about 9.5 miles from the ferry terminal. If walking onto the ferry, rent a car on the island. A chartered plane is an option. The Landmark Orcas Island is across the street from Waterfront Park.
