Rooms and Suites
Kandahar Lodge at Whitefish Mountain Resort has 50 rooms, including one Executive Suite. Room types include Lodge Rooms with two queen beds or one queen bed and a full sleeper sofa; Studio Rooms with one queen bed and one full sofa sleeper, featuring a layout that combines a bedroom, kitchen, and living area. Kitchen Loft Units have a sleeping loft with a kitchen/dining/living area. The Executive Suite has a king bed, three queen beds, and a full sofa sleeper. Two Room Lodge Suites combine a Lodge Room with a Studio Room. The Garret Room features ski decor, bench and hangers for storage and a bistro table with two chairs.
Dining choices Onsite
The east side of the Lobby serves a continental breakfast. You will have many choices: hard boiled eggs, endless meat and cheese tray, many fresh fruits, pastries, muffins, cereals, juices, coffees, oatmeal, even a conveyor type toaster. Café Kandahar is an upscale restaurant. The Snug Bar offers expanded take-out options and an appetizer and taps menu that varies seasonally. The onsite bar serves a limited menu from the Café Kandahar kitchen. Chef Andy Blanton creates a menu based on your desires and budget. Café Kandahar has an extensive wine list, receiving accolades such as 'The Wine Spectator Award of Excellence' and the 'Wine Enthusiasts Award of Unique Distinction.' Buchanan's at Kandahar Lodge is a chop house and whisky bar serving Alberta beef, house-made pastas, soups, and sauces.
Leisure and Wellness
The Wellness Center includes a steam room and a fitness center equipped with a large screen TV, cardio machines, weight machines, free weights, bosu ball, and yoga mat. Guests can unwind in the steam room located on the first level of the Wellness Center, or in the large outdoor Jacuzzi with a heated outdoor entry and heated flooring. Massage on the Mountain offers therapeutic massage treatments.
Location and Transport
Kandahar Lodge is located at Whitefish Mountain Resort, 7 miles from Whitefish and 32 miles from Glacier National Park. During the ski season, shuttles run several times a day between Whitefish and Whitefish Mountain Resort. The free snow bus to and from downtown is a short walk up the hill to the village area. Glacier Park International is 35 km away. The lodge offers a ski-in location via Hailey's Run. To access the ski lifts, guests can walk across the parking lot to Chair 6, or use the lodge's van to the Resort Village lift plaza.
Services Available
Kandahar Lodge is available for small company holiday parties and events, weddings, family reunions, and corporate retreats. The Northern Lights Room is available for group dining and parties. The east side of the Lobby functions as the continental breakfast area for guests but can be used as a dance floor with a DJ or musician positioned on the landing above. Cocktail parties are available in a private lounge with a small bar area. Kandahar Lodge can host small corporate meetings or board retreats and arrange for on-site catering. Audio and video rental equipment is also available.
